Reaching out to Gen Next through their own poetics

Poetry unites beyond borders and if it’s written in a language that is itself a confluence of many cultural and linguistic traditions, it carries universal appeal across generations – from connoisseurs to the Nasl-e-Nau, the Gen Next.

Being launched on popular demand in the capital this July, ‘Jashn-e-NauBahar’ is a unique ground-breaking youth initiative of the non-profit Jashn-e-Bahar Trust best known for its annual international mushaira Jashn-e-Bahar.

A poetic soiree with a difference and aimed at making a difference, Jashn-e-NauBahar is a dream project for all who believe in preserving and promoting India’s mushtarika tehzeeb .

Jashn-e-NauBahar is designed to provide a democratic platform to the young poets. Reflecting India’s composite culture and syncretic values, it is envisaged as a multi-lingual poetic forum. To start with, our inaugural programme will feature and Hindi and Urdu poets.

The Inaugural Programme

The opening edition of NauBahar is scheduled for Friday, July 20th, 2018, 6 pm onwards at B S Abdur Rahman Auditorium, India Islamic Cultural Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.

About ten young poets of Hindi and Urdu will participate in the poetic soiree that aims to showcase the modern face of Indian poetics and the sensibilities and issues of the youth.

The poetic evening will be preceded by an informal get-together among the poets, the press and the audiences over high tea at the venue.
